*Position Requirements*

*Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following:*

·       Assist the Database team with various ongoing tasks, including but
not limited to database installation, configuration and hardening, backup
validation, performance tuning, replication setup, and general database
monitoring, as well as recommend best practices and procedures.

·       Install, upgrade and maintain Oracle 11g RAC database on AIX,
including backup and recovery.

·       Allocating storage and planning future storage requirements for the
database system.

·       Work with teams of application programmers, system architects to
create solutions to meet business goals.

·       Perform off-hours (evening or weekend work) as needed for emergency
or maintenance tasks.

·       Provide support for internal users and external data exchange
partners.

·       Perform optimization and tuning activities, including capacity
planning, tracking historical usage, trending future resource needs, and
modifying resource allocations as needed.

·       Provides recommendations on technical architecture.

·       Generating various reports by querying from database as per need.

·       Provides hands-on training and mentoring for other database
administrative staff.



*The ONE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:*



* Expert Level*

*You must be an Expert Database Administrator / Oracle with documented
employment experience of 7+ years (84+ months).*



·      You must have experience with data analysis and database
management.  Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries,
physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.

·      You must be able to provide leadership of large teams and/or
extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.



*Desirable Qualifications*

The numbered qualifications below are not mandatory, but candidates should
meet or exceed in duration and skill set target asked for, at least 4 of
numbers 1 through 7.



*1.    *84 months experience as Oracle DBA in AIX/Unix environment,
including experience in SQL AND PL/SQL scripting, Shell scripting (C, Korn,
Bourne, and Bash) and writing technical documentation.

*2.    *60 months of experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters
(Oracle RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (Oracle ASM) and Oracle
Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System Oracle Recovery Manager
(RMAN), Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Database Security. Including at least
18 months experience implementing Oracle 11gR2 RAC on AIX.

*3.    *60 months of experience with implementations, upgrades, conversions
and consolidation projects with Oracle databases.

*4.    *36 months experience in physical disk storage including an
understanding of disk hardware architecture, RAID implementation, cache
controllers, and disk load balancing.

*5.    *36 months of experience with database and data warehouse design
including data normalization theory and star schema design and experience
with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition on AIX.

*6.    *18 months experience with the administration and support of the
Oracle SIEBEL environment (excluding experience in maintaining the user
interface), Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP) and Oracle
Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) using Loqate on AIX.

*7.    *Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related
discipline.
