Job Responsibilities: Senior Web Designer: Will report to the Creative Director. He or she will be responsible for brainstorming compelling brand experiences with the project team, exploring creative design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, delivering detailed design specs to developers, and overseeing junior design team members and freelancers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand the creative and marketing objectives for each project assigned Provide design and production support for high visibility product launches and events Work with Art Directors and Web Design team to extend and optimize Web functionality, site architecture, user interface and navigation Source images in support of online creative Partner with marketing and merchant partners to design brand-right layouts for the Web with an eye to performance and ease of use Ensure deadlines for assigned projects are met Produce, optimize and output final Web-ready digital artwork Maintain absolute accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative and production process QUALIFICATIONS: Strong conceptual thinking Sophisticated sense of design/style Strong design fundamentals (type, image, color) Passion for user experience Strong understanding of grid systems and responsive design systems Ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, customer-friendly experiences Working understanding of ecommerce and marketing best practices Discerning eye for photo editing, cropping, and compositing Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team member Resourceful self-starter who gets things done Highly organized with extreme attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills required EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree (Design / Interactive) or equivalent experience Proven talent in graphic and interactive design 5+ years Web design in an agency or a brand Mastery of appropriate tools & technology Advanced Photoshop, with excellent digital photo-manipulation and compositing skills Working knowledge Illustrator, Flash ActionScript & InDesign Knowledge of best practices for Web image optimization Understanding of the capabilities and best practices relating to the use of front-end Web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, AJAX Motion graphics & video editing experience for web (After Effects & Final Cut Pro) a plus Relevant creative background Proven talent in graphic and interactive design Strong retail/fashion brand or agency experience desired; ecommerce experience ideal Experience delivering on business and creative goals through design Experience overseeing or editing copy a plus Design for mobile UI Must have Complex UX design Beautiful visual design and typography Experience designing for fashion or media/entertainment brands Our Digital Special Projects team is the primary design and UX support for major marketing initiatives, highly interactive and engaging shopping tools, all social media and events including Fashion Show.
