*Need Security Analyst in CA - 6 Months contract!* Position : Security Analyst Location : Los Angeles,CA Duration : 6 Months Description: The Information Security Analyst is responsible for participating the design, development and implementation of campus-wide Information Security programs and services that support a broad array of technologies including high performance, distributed, network and web computing environments that supports academic, research and administrative functions within the university. Provide technical expertise in the analysis, development, implementation, coordination of, and compliance with, campus-wide information security initiatives while ensuring compliance with federal, state and University regulations. Participate in incident response activities including forensic analysis, remediation and root-cause analysis to prevent future incidents; provide recommendations regarding technical and functional solutions based upon incident analysis. Deliver information security services including needs assessment, solution development, and training to establish secure networks, infrastructure, applications, databases and end-user computing capabilities and disaster recovery planning. Additional responsibilities may include systems engineering and administration, vendor/software evaluation, research and proposal development. Desired Qualifications: Advanced knowledge and applied expertise in server and desktop operating systems (Windows, Unix, Mac, etc.). In-depth knowledge of server configurations, RAID, SAN, server clustering, networking protocols, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN technologies, firewalls, and security certificate technologies. Advanced skill in developing and implementing methods and procedures to ensure information security and data integrity. Demonstrated advanced ability to deploy, configure and maintain multiple malware protection software for multiple platforms (Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro, etc.). Advanced knowledge of Ethernet network topologies. Demonstrated skill in using network analysis tools (e.g. tcpdump, flow-tools, Snort, Packet/Flow analysis, etc.). Advanced skill in using network scanning technologies (e.g. Retina, Nessus, etc.) Advanced skill in using web application scanning technologies (AppScan and/or SPI Dynamics WebInspect, etc.). Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) highly desired. Advanced ability to evaluate hardware and software, devise benchmarks, draw comparisons, and write reviews. Ability and willingness to work unusual hours on short notice in order to resolve critical problems or comply with testing or maintenance schedules. Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships. Possess the verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization; ability to use Standard English grammar and punctuation. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems (or similar) OR five years of relevant professional experience and education.
