*Title: Java Developer with **Cassandra* *Location: Cincinnati OH Duration: Longterm* *Position Summary:* The primary focus of this position is Java Development for Middleware Services DataStax Cassandra team. This role is responsible for the design, development, installation and performance of java services for DataStax Cassandra. Extensive Java Development experience required. Experience with Java, Jax-rs, Cassandra, Solr, Mongo, Spring framework, Git/Stash, Gradle, IntelliJ required. IBM Liberty and Tomcat servlet containers required. The successful candidate will perform java development for highly performant and scalable services to access, manipulate and write data to and from Kroger’s DataStax Cassandra rings (databases) for eCommerce, Internet facing applications. The role has responsibility for performance, capacity and scalability of the java services designed and written by this person. Strong analytical and troubleshoot skillset required. Ability to work within a development team environment required. Ability to self-prioritize workload and manage deadlines effectively required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required. Exposure to Agile development processes a strong plus, but not required. *Essential Job Functions:* · Provide guidance to Ecommerce development teams on Kroger’s Middleware technology systems and services in an effort to improve performance and reliability of new applications and new application features. · Experience developing enterprise application using J2EE · Experience developing enterprise RESTful interfaces · Experience developing and supporting applications in IBM WebSphere Application Servers in clustered environments · Knowledge of Tomcat, IBM Liberty and Solr · Experience working in a NoSql environments such as Cassandra/Mongo/CouchBase · Experience with Data Modeling a plus · Familiarity with tools such as Git, Gradle, Wwagger, eclipse or intelij · Good understanding of Json/xml schema · Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to analyze java cores, system dumps, heaps dumps and logs to determine root cause of issues · Experience developing highly performing applications. · Proven ability to create or modify Linux shell scripts. · Proven understanding of security and administration best practices · Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation *Minimum Position Qualifications:* · 6+ years of Java development experience · 2+ years of Restful services development · Experience with Spring framework is required · Experience with Linux scripting is required · Experience with Json is required · Data modelling experience is a plus · Retail experience is a plus · Comfortable working with Agile environment. · Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience · Experience with Tomcat is a plus, but not required · Experience with Apache and/or DataSTax Cassandra and other NoSQL databases technologies is a plus, but not required · Experience with Git/Stash is a plus Regards..
