*Wintel Engineer* * Lake Forest, IL 6+months * Work with the Manager of Technical Engineering, Enterprise Architect and Manager, Datacenter Operations to conduct evaluations and assessments of Windows server operating systems, hardware platforms and related Microsoft Windows technologies. This role will be responsible for the engineering, design, implementation, and administration of Windows Server operating system infrastructure at Company. The Wintel Lead Engineer will be responsible for drafting standard operating procures to insure adherence. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Thoroughly assess and document current state of the Windows Operating System environment. 2. Participate in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiative from beginning to end acting with a sense of urgency. 3. Develop customized solutions that address specific needs; successfully manage and/or deliver engagements 4. Develop in-depth understanding of a business requirements, along with our current Windows Server Operating System environment; assess and make recommendations 5. Conduct assessment and document gaps 6. Engineer Windows Server Operating System solutions operations, policies, and procedures to drive proactive solution designs. 7. Must be able to work in a team environment with a “can do” attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges. 8. Identify opportunities to innovate, extend and enhance service delivery everywhere possible. 9. Actively participate in daily operations escalations. Requirements: - A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing and managing Windows Server Operating System solutions across various vendors’ technologies. - Strong experience using Windows Server management and monitoring toolsets. - Strong experiencing with Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012, HyperV and associated Windows operating system roles and features - Expert in the collection of various performance matrices and producing reports on Windows Server health - Expertise in monitoring, identifying, analyzing issues and escalating to required levels and attention. - Exposure and working knowledge of Windows operating system environments, as well as, various business applications. - Expertise in end to end Windows Server Operating System monitoring tools and utilities. - Expertise in scripting using a variety of tools. - Expertise in the installation and configuration of Windows Server Operating System and Microsoft Exchange Server - Excellent communication skills both oral and written Previous experience completing technical assessments and providing effective recommendations.
