Chevy Chase, MD 6 month contract Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Be responsible for patching 5000+ SuSE Linux servers. -Work with application teams to gather patching requirements and architect solutions to patch the servers without taking any down time for our applications. -Evaluate, write up, and plan implementation of new technologies available to patch these servers. . -Automate existing and new processes through the use of orchestration and scripting. -Develop and publish documents and procedures on GEICO's patching process -24x7 On-Call support for production systems Required Skills/ years of experience needed: A minimum of three years of experience in following: -Experience with Linux Servers (SuSE Linux 11.3 or higher) and Virtualization Technologies (VMWare). - Well versed with patching tools (SuSE Manager). HPSA will also be considered. -Experience with Cisco UCS based Infrastructure -Experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere in a large infrastructure -Knowledge of Server hardware and technologies (Rack/Blade/UCS) -Strong understanding of Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, sub netting, TCP/IP) -Strong scripting or programming background -Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills -Strong communication and project management skills -Ability to work independently with limited supervision -Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or IT related course load and working towards a degree -Over 3 years Systems Administration experience -Industry Certification (Microsoft/VMware) is a plus, but not required Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
