Description
We are looking for a Performance Engineer (Performance Tester or Benchmark
Tester) to focus on application and solution quality engineering.
***Role will be conducting performance testing for a new product line.
HP’s emerging technologies threaten to disrupt computing as we know it and
HPE is building a team of engineers to help lead the revolution.
This is a high visibility role that will impact the way products are
designed and deployed.
Verbal communication skills are VERY IMPORTANT!!
Ideal candidate will have testing experience either Lab environment or
DataCenter environment.
Testing of hardware: Memory or storage etc.
Responsibilities
Design Performance Test Plans for emerging Persistent Memory Solutions
Design complex storage configurations to test product capabilities in
simulated production-like environments
Perform deep analysis of performance related data in a non-deterministic
system
Working closely with architects on performance related problems or
improvements
Work closely with manageability team to drive feedback into customer facing
tools
Collaborate with development engineers in fault isolation, root cause
analysis, problem resolution and driving performance improvements into the
system
Perform highly structured manual and automated performance tests and
provide detailed status reports
Supporting highly visible customer escalations related to the performance
of the system
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer
Engineering, or equivalent
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
Ability to effectively communicate plans and results at senior management
levels.
Strong knowledge of storage and networking technologies
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to debug complex system
problems with a keen eye for detail
Strong understanding of the complex factors involved in performance testing
and analysis
Ability to troubleshoot performance related issues in a lab or escalated
from a customer's datacenter
Solid knowledge in the following Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, VMWare
Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple test
executions simultaneously
