Send your resumes to si...@boston-technology.com *Role: Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator* *Rate: 45$/hr* *Duties:* Work as a Sr. Unix Systems Administrator. Responsible for the daily administration of UNIX based servers running Solaris & Linux. This includes general system administration tasks, software and hardware support, system configuration, backups, system monitoring, documentation, performance tuning and troubleshooting. Lead & work with Project Managers, Application Developers, trouble-shoot their applications and guide them with best practices. Work in a team or as a sole contributor. Duties include System Administration of UNIX based servers, system trouble-shooting, hardware and software system changes, shell scripting, system performance monitoring, system sizing, system integration, upgrade implementation, compliance, security & audit and hardware diagnostics. Working with Architects & other System Administrator to understand the process and take guidance wherever necessary. Application Support - work with application developers to help trouble-shoot and fine-tune applications and also if required guide application developers in best practices related to using the underlying UNIX infrastructure. Performance Tuning - performance tune the systems to achieve optimal performance for computational intensive applications. Design & Architecture - suggest and improve systems design and architecture for both systems and applications. Work with Architects to provide feedback on system capacity / issues.
