*Oracle Database Administrator * *Location: Bay Area, CA** ( **Face to Face required**)*** *Duration: Long Term* *Start date: Immediate* ** *Role Description* The Integration engineer will work closely in OBP-IE Platform Engineering practices area and work with the development teams to understand, engineer and support Database changes in ISD (Internet Services Development) platforms, validate database changes in SIT (System Integration Testing), and facilitate rolling out to other environments (like QA and Production). *Candidate will be required to: * - Install, configure, administer and manage Oracle 9i , 10g and 11g databases - Install Oracle Data Guard and Streams - Performance monitoring, Database and SQL tuning - Perform database Backups and Recovery. Knowledge of RMAN - Design, test, implement, maintain and control the organization's physical and relational across multiple platforms and computing environments. - Participate in the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards for current and future applications. - Provide in-depth consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues in a timely and professional manner. - Participate in the planning, design and usage of data resources. - Provide support to development team on infrastructure and DBA Support. - Provide a daily status of application and performance. - Develop detailed data models and entity relationship diagrams. - Extensive experience in PL/SQL coding and SQL reporting - Design archival and purging strategy with partition tables. - Experience with Streams & RAC Configuration will be a big plus. *Minimum Qualifications*: - 8-11 years of demonstrated Oracle Administration and Design experience including but not limited to: - Experience with web-based applications (Weblogic, Sun One, MQ, Oracle and Solaris) - Experience with Oracle Streams and Data Guard - Performance monitoring & tuning - Extensive Experience with PL/SQL and Data modeling - Database installs and patching - Physical and logical layout of database - Backup and Recovery - Disaster Recovery - Change Management - Extensive Experience with UNIX and Shell Scripting - Documentation and Knowledge Transfer - Troubleshooting and analysis skills - Version Control System using Clearcase - Experience with large databases (at least 1-4TB) This is an engineer and Admin type role, not a developer or an architect. Hands-on experience is more critical than design skills.
