*Must have: RDS (relational database services) and AWS Cloud migration project.* I need someone who understands RDS (relational database services) and who has worked on an AWS Cloud migration project. Expert knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration and related products such as Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and SharePoint. Proficiency in cloud-based initiatives with emphasis on planning and provisioning the right type and size of computing resources required to migrate business critical application databases to cloud platforms. Advanced ability to monitor, diagnose and present effective solutions for database and especially application performance issues supported by empirical evidence. Must have critical thinking skills, able to analyze situations, challenge assumptions, develop methodologies, present and defend conclusions and recommend action plans. Ability to configure alerts using enterprise management software to monitor system health and proactively identify potential issues and harmful trends. Implement and manage security to provide appropriate levels of access to users throughout the company and protect data according to mandatory legal requirements. Experience in creating and implementing operational automation and scheduled jobs to transfer data securely across heterogeneous environments and improve business workflow efficiency. Have the intellectual curiosity and willingness to delve into a problem to understand root causes. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2014 administration and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Windows Failover Clustering is preferred.
