Job Title : Java Developer Location : Jersey City, NJ Duration : 6 Month Contract I currently have 6 month (with possible extensions) contract position for a Java Developer with HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS , MVC, Struts experience. This position is for the Jersey City, NJ location. The client will require an in person interview, if the candidates are out of area please confirm that you will fly them in for the onsite interview. JOB TITLE: Java Developer (HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS , MVC, Struts)- Jersey City, NJ - 6 month CONTRACT Job Duties & Responsibilities: Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. The Developer must be able to: Perform hands-on technical functions including: Design and implement source code based on requirements Design and implement unit test cases for the J2EE code base Analyze coded algorithms to identify performance and implementation weaknesses Learn to read application-specific log files and diagnose root causes of issues Troubleshoot, identify and log defects Accurately estimate the complexity of, and level of effort to, complete tasks Essential Duties: Perform specific skills/competence in research/analysis of involved proprietary technologies • Technical discussions • Custom / JAVA programming assistance/project implementation scheduling (initial/networking/hardware/ installation/conversion/test rollout/live rollout) o ‘Fire fighting • Work with and provide development technical services to other departments and customers • Accountable for agreed upon project schedules • Assist in quality assurance measures (code reviews/unit/interaction test case creation, etc.) • Assist in assembling information for user documentation • Assist Technical Support/Development team in solving programming-related problems • Work independently with limited supervision but keeping supervisor informed • Work in office environment, participate in special projects and perform other duties as required Required Qualifications: 5+ years of software development experience with Java (HTML, XHTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS) 4+ years JSP, and MVC architecture 3+ years with JUnit and Ant 2+ years XML, Struts and JSTL 1+ years with Java Applet Authoring, Web Services, SOAP, WSDL Simple understanding of SQL / SQL Server Effective communication and interpersonal skills, team player Agile process Test-driven development Experience rendering Vector images in applets as well as to flat file (jpg). This will require basic understanding of 2d geometry. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Master’s preferred.
