*Must have:* Oracle AIX Webshere GENERAL FUNCTION: Provides solution architecture services and technical leadership within the Commercial Credit IT organization. Plans, designs, and coordinates strategic technical solutions that support both business and IT objectives. Works closely with portfolio managers, enterprise architecture, development, and operations to ensure the business and its IT systems are in alignment. Assists application teams in developing technical roadmaps for major systems, products, and initiatives. Responsibilities can include systems and application design, project planning, technical and domain-specific research, tactical development, software evaluation and vendor selection, capacity planning, process optimization, governance, mentoring, design and code reviews, support and troubleshooting. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for architecture and design of complex solutions, applications, and processes. This includes approving the architecture for a variety of platforms including open systems, mainframe, custom applications, COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) software, as well as externally hosted solutions. 2. Interact and consult with Enterprise Architecture, technical services, and all areas of IT to understand business strategies and project requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 3. Act as a technical expert addressing problems related to system and application design, performance, integration, security, etc. 4. Define processes and standards to promote consistency, quality, agility, and reuse in Commercial Credit IT's development activities. 5. Lead local architecture reviews and planning sessions, and ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture procedures and guidelines. 6. Act as an architecture liaison for the department. Interact with Enterprise Architecture on a regular basis and communicate Enterprise IT policies and architectural decisions to the application teams. 7. Author and review technical documentation for consistency, completeness, and compliance with internal standards. 8. Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the banking and IT industries. 9. Understand the departmental technology budget and participate in the planning and spending process for hardware and software. 10. Develop relationships with key technology vendors and schedule educational presentations and meetings with key departmental technologists. 11. Provide architecture guidance and mentoring to teams within the department. 12. Manage and prioritize multiple assignments. 13. Other duties as required.
