Description The CLIENT is seeking to augment its Software and Data Services team with a technical resource that has expertise in developing web applications by analyzing requirements, evaluating and applying software design blueprints, and constructing web-enabled software components. Resource must be fully knowledgeable and experienced in deploying web applications in an AIX, Websphere 7.0 and Oracle 11g database environment. The resource will work with other CLIENT developers on the maintenance and enhancements of the website application and will provide training to developers as needed. SCOPE OF SERVICES Our Client is seeking augmentation to assist its Software and Data Services team in the maintenance and enhancements of their websites. The CLIENT website utilizes a Struts framework with dynamic content built from JSP pages that are rendered from an Oracle 11g database. The website application is hosted on load balanced AIX application servers running Websphere 7.0 with http requests being served up by an array of load balanced http servers. Two of the more critical tasks that will be addressed by this resource are proper implementation of dynamic caching and stateless environment. This Request for Quote has been issued by the CLIENT to obtain quotes from qualified Vendors to provide the services of an advanced Applications Architect who can work alongside CLIENT staff in a mentoring capacity to achieve the successful maintenance and enhancement of the CLIENT's website. MANDATORY Technical/Business Skill Set Requirements J2EE Applications Architect/Developer . Minimum 6 - 8 years experience as a J2EE Application Architect/Developer; . Strong technical skills in HTML, XML, SQL, JSP, JavaScript and Java; . Experience in building and deploying web applications in an AIX, Websphere 7.0 and Oracle 11g database environment; . Advanced knowledge of relational database design, object-oriented design and programming and web development frameworks (specifically Struts); . Strong knowledge transfer and mentoring skills; . Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical members of the team. . Ability to work in a team environment with multiple developers, consultants and project managers; . Ability to collaborate development efforts and work within a standards-based environment; DESIRABLE Skills Set - Additional consideration for the following skills. . Experience using Rational Application Developer software; . Certification in Oracle, Java, PL/SQL RESPONSIBILITIES . Analyze the current infrastructure of the CLIENT's website and make the necessary modifications to ensure a stateless environment; . Research, recommend and implement a better solution for dynamic caching; . Analyze and implement changes to the website application to address any security vulnerabilities; . Assist team in the conversion to Struts 2 framework; . Assist in any project that requires Web Services for communication; . Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL procedures and be able to retrieve, update, insert and delete data from Oracle databases; . Mentor CLIENT applications staff to achieve self-reliance with all projects assigned and completed; . Identify processes for improvement, document existing processes, identify and analyze gaps between current processes and product capabilities, design new processes, develop process performance measures and assist team with transition to a new process; . Handle day-to-day management of assigned projects and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met; . Write technical documentation.
