Position : SQL Server DBA Location : East Lansing, MI Duration : 3-6 Months Responsibilities: Design, install and configure Microsoft SQL Server software and related products in a cluster/non-cluster environment working with cross-functional teams Administer, monitor, backup/restore, and resolve issues with database systems based on proactive monitoring and incident resolution systems; responds to urgent issues 24x7x365 Proactively make recommendations for improvements in database technology landscape to improve Database Availability and Database performance Create, edit, present for team review, and implement standard complexity database designs (working with functional and technical staff members) including granting user access and permissions management Act as a contributor in the design, modification, implementation and integration of moderate to highly complex databases and database support software as a member of the DBA team. Migrate database applications and changes from development/test to production environments Job Requirements Participate in the development of team technical practices, procedures, and policies as a member of the team Manage ticket assignments and time tracking systems promptly according to departmental standards Participate in after-hours availability rotation schedule as part of application administration team; requires some evening and weekend work Contribute as a team member to the support of SSRS and SSIS reporting and data extraction tools Contribute as a team member to design, deployment and optimization of database schema, index, design and modeling initiatives.
