Reporting to the SAP Build Lead, this role has responsibility for
functional SAP design and configuration. The focus of this role is to
ensure the Wiley SAP solution design is consistent with SAP best
practices.  Expert level design and configuration knowledge in SAP Finance,
Controlling, Revenue Recognition, AR and Treasury.

   - Guide the business in utilizing the SAP platform functionality to the
   best extent possible, including the review of business processes and system
   integration challenges.
   - Manage the interplay between Wiley processes and the SAP configuration.
   - Partner with Business Process leads on process requirements.
   - Validate and ensure detailed scope per deployment roadmap.
   - Ensure all integration points are addressed and overall solution
   integrity of the landscape. Work with other functional domain resources to
   ensure an end to end approach in defining solutions of best-fit.
   - Lead the SAP configuration Wiley team to ensure that the SAP solution
   is in line with best practices
   - Determine what functionality is required in terms of design, structure
   and configuration, in line with internal guidelines and procedures, in
   order to translate the IT requirements into an optimum IT solution.
   - Accountable for the quality of the SAP financial solution delivered.
   - Provide functional design oversight for the solution.
   - Look for alternative approaches to SAP custom development in
   collaboration with SAP and SI.
   - Scope and Estimate business requirements.
   - Work with business process leads and users to gather requirements for
   reports and application extensions.
   - Lead the delivery of projects like Functional enhancements,
   Enhancement pack upgrade, Support pack upgrade etc.
   - Ensure that there is very minimal change to the template process so as
   to avoid unnecessary project costs and resources and that all the
   requirements of the Change Management Process are met, including following
   the relevant standards for testing, transports and documentation.
   - Create functional specifications, test plans, user training, cutover
   plans and other project documentation
   - Diagnose and resolve application and process issues as they arise.
   - Conduct technical overviews and software capability demonstrations for
   business process owners and leads as required.
   - Train SAP Super users, Business process owners and business process
   leads.
   - Escalate risks and issues to VP ERP Applications.

Guide the business in utilizing the SAP platform functionality to the best
extent possible, including the review of business processes and system
integration challenges. Manage the interplay between Wiley processes and
the SAP configuration.

Ensure SAP best practices are leveraged wherever possible as part of the
solution.

the SI to ensure a SAP solution in line with SAP best practices.

solution. Solution must have long term viability and meet business vision.

integration points are addressed  and overall solution integrity of the

end approach in defining solutions of best-fit.

Ensure detailed scope is clear and accounts for all functionality to be
addressed in SAP in the phased approach. Ensure the integrity of the
solution with its interactions within the Wiley landscape

Accountable for the quality of the SAP financial solution delivered. Ensure
that there is very minimal change to the template so as to avoid
unnecessary project costs and resources and that all the requirements of
the Change Management Process are met, including following the relevant
standards for testing, transports and documentation

Minimize costs associated with customizations.

Look for alternative approaches to SAP custom development in collaboration
with SAP and SI. Determine what functionality is required in terms of
design, structure and configuration, in line with internal guidelines and
procedures, in order to translate the IT requirements into an optimum IT
solution



Keep solution as close to standard SAP as possible.

6.

Scope and estimate business requirements. Work with business process leads
and users to gather requirements for reports and application extensions.
Lead the delivery of projects like Functional enhancements, Enhancement
pack upgrade, Support pack upgrade etc.

Ensure deployment on key business requirements within time and budget

7.

Create functional specifications, test plans, user training, cutover plans
and other project documentation



Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all program requirements documentation

8.

Conduct technical overviews and software capability demonstrations for
business process owners and leads as required and train SAP Super users,
business process owners and business process leads.

Ensure training and acceptance of the solution.

9.

Guide the business in utilizing platform functionality to the best extent
possible, including the review of business processes and system integration
challenges.

Minimize costs associated with customizations required to accommodate
non-standard business processes.

10.

Escalate issues to VP ERP Applications

Minimize cost and delays due to unanticipated issues

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or computer science or related field or a
combination of related experience and education.

CPA qualification.

IFRS knowledge.

Prior Experience / Industry or Other

·         Proven business acumen in   Finance and controlling functions.

·         8 plus years of SAP experience across multiple end to end
implementations, with at least 3 as FICO lead or Functional Integration
lead.

·         SAP Functional configuration expertise in General Ledger (FI-
GL), Controlling (CO),   Accounts Receivable(AR), Accounts Payable(AP),
Asset Accounting (AA), Project Systems (PS) Profitability Analysis (PA),
New GL,  Budgeting Planning & Consolidations (BPC) and Cash Management



Prior work experience in a finance function.

Multi-country rollout experience preferred

SAP Collections & Dispute Mgmt

SAP  IS Media and SAP GRC

HANA knowledge and experience

SAP Certification
