(St Louis MO Duration: 1 year plus Job Overview: *Education:* •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a combination of equivalent experience and formal training/education. Knowledge / Experience: •2-5 years experience in systems administration. •Solid knowledge of operating systems, infrastructure software, communications, computer hardware and peripherals. •Strong command of multi-platform OS, communication software and hardware, security software and application subsystems. Skills/ Abilities: •Strong inter-personal and communication skills. •Ability to solve problems quickly and completely. •Ability to identify tasks which should be automated and then write the necessary scripts. •Solid understanding of the OS and can perform system elementary analysis and tuning. •Solid understanding of networking concepts. Work Conditions: •Ability to adhere to a standard work schedule as defined by department, plus on-call rotation and after hours support and implementation as needed. Ability to program in an administrative language *(Tk, Perl, shell).* *Experience with some of the following*: Tivoli monitoring, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas HA Cluster, Veritas File System, zfs , AutoSecure, Autosys, Virtualization ( LPAR, LDOM, Vmware, VIO) and EMC storage . Sun Solaris 10 or Sun x86, AIX 6.x experience and Storage Area Network experience (SAN) is required. Sun or AIX System Administration Certification is a plus.
