Title: Java Developer Location: Downtown Chicago, IL Duration: 6 month contract Senior Java Developer with strong application design experience 1. Strong analytical and technical design skills. Experience (minimum 7 years) in creating detail technical specifications, class diagrams, sequence diagrams etc. Full life cycle project experience from requirements to rollout using RUP methodology. 2. Excellent hands-on (7+ years) core Java skills, including concurrent programming/multi-threaded applications complex backend systems publish-subscribe messaging (using TIBCO Rendezvous) Database schema design and performance implications strong in SQL, JDBC (including batching) Collections, Regular expressions Experience writing efficient, high-throughput Java code Experience with Complex Event Processing tools like Streambase will be a big plus. 3. Experience working with Oracle database. 4. Must have strong hands on design experience using object oriented paradigm, design patterns etc 5. Familiarity with profiling Java applications using commercial or open source profilers, Good understanding of JVM arguments and parameters, Understanding of how to tune a JVM and Garbage Collection 6. Strong Linux/Unix experience including Basic navigation File editing Shell scripting to support running a JVM on Linux Other Linux/ Unix scripting such as Perl or Python would be a nice to have 7. GUI Development experience Web Application Development including frameworks like Spring, Sprint MVC etc Tomcat web/application server 8. Highly Motivated & self starter with ability to work in a dynamic environment. 9. Creative & Quick learner with ability to understand big picture. 10. Strong verbal & written communication skills.
