*Loc:* *Rochester*** *UI Design Engineer Roles and Responsibilities* The primary role of a UI Design Engineer is to create user interface screens that are intuitive, visually pleasing, and have a consistent “look-n-feel” w/ the rest of the applications developed by SDI. *(1) Develop User Interface Specifications for New Products* · Involves interfacing with both the System Engineering and Development teams to understand the product requirements. · A user interface would then be documented (in PowerPoint) using guidelines from other existing products and then presented for feedback to these teams. · Feedback is then incorporated into the documents and revisions are generated. · This is an ongoing, iterative process which incorporated feedback from the product quality teams as well. *(2) User Interface Specifications for Existing Products* · Produce a specification from an existing product so that additional features can be designed into the system. · This is basically the same as producing a specification for a new product, except changes to existing functions need to be kept to a minimum. *(3) Graphics and Layout* · Produce Images and, in some cases, the HTML, CSS and JavaScript to implement the various user interfaces *(4) .Net Server Controls (Possibly)* · For some reusable user interface components, produce a .Net Server Control.
