Responsibilities include: Developing/maintaining tools that automate the database development lifecycle and improve database development efficiency (examples: deployment and object comparison tools). Providing guidance on database infrastructure planning and upgrades such as hardware purchases, vendor/OS/host upgrades, and database moves. Providing assistance when needed to troubleshoot performance/stability issues in the database. MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Minimum 6 years experience in Sybase or DB2 Significant experience in data modeling and database performance tuning Solid programming experience in Java/JDBC or Perl Strong communication skills.
