*****Immediately Needed A Consultant***** Lead Cognos Administrator Location: Santa Clara, CA Duration: 5+Months Contract MANAGER’S NOTE: WE NEED Candidates, who are strong in Cognos 7 with expertise on PowerPlay, Impromptu and Upfront tools, (Not ReportNet, Cognos 8 etc). Cognos 7 is our current production environment. We are in the process of upgrading to Cognos8, but it will take at least another 6 months. The candidate should be willing to work on Cognos 7 environment. Duties: Systems Analyst required for administration, support and enhancement of the AV Data Warehouse Cognos 7.3 environment. Duties include administration, analysis, troubleshooting, enhancing existing reports, cubes and catalogs or developing new ones on Cognos. Experience on Impromptu, Power Play, Access Manager and IWR and PPES server administration tools, are MUST. The Systems Analyst will work with the rest of the technical team to understand the current Cognos 7 objects, administer and support them on a daily basis, and prepare and develop any required enhancements. An upgrade to Cognos 8 may happen during the course of the assignment and the Systems Analyst may become the support person for the Cognos 8 environment. Required: Bachelor’s degree, 6+ years of formal IT systems configuration experience. Data warehouse report definition and distribution, cube generation, bursting and security processes. Experience with Cognos series 7 server configuration including Transformer, Powerplay Enterprise Server and Access Manager. Experience with report development using Powerplay and Impromptu. Experience with Cognos 7 Server Administration tools is required. Experience on multi-server Cognos install preferred. Knowledge of VBA scripting, Cognos script and C# is preferred. Experience writing complex queries on Oracle database is required Data warehouse interface tools including Informatica. Knowledge of Access database is preferred. Ability to follow the documented instructions and work/resolve independently. Change management experience required – IT control practices, organizational change, technology adoption.
