It serves operating a labyrinth of directory services that provides all access to technology services. This kind of work requires deep attention to operational excellence due to its broad impact. The UNIX infrastructure team operates fundamental services that support email routing, directory interfaces, storage, and management of approximately 200 servers that are both internal and world facing. Other units may contribute but this team is uniquely qualified and tightly aligned to communicate through issues by troubleshooting very quickly.
