*Responsibilities:*

• Responsible for server builds, OS installation, and patch management.
Install and maintain software products as needed.

• Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, OS, system software, network,
SAN, NAS, etc.

• Automate repetitive tasks through shell or Perl scripting

• Documents and notifies Developers and Business Analysts of software and
hardware upgrades.

• Tunes system software for peak performance and availability.

• Assists Developers with high level problem program debugging and
correction.

• Install and configure system and application monitoring tool such as
Nagios

• Provide 24 x 7 on-call application support on the UNIX systems in rotation
with other team members.

• Makes system hardware and software recommendations as required. Work with
Vendors to procure and install/upgrade hardware.

• Coordinate Vendors to provide hardware support.

• Configure and document backup and restore procedures.

• Maintains UNIX Disaster Recovery Plan and actively participate in
Technology and Business Recovery activities.

• Stays abreast with technical and operational tools and knowledge required
to perform assigned duties.

1) Responsible for server builds, patch management, virtual machine
management, virus scanning, etc.

2) Monitor windows environment for anomalies and errors, reporting and
escalation of issues.

3) Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of the
platforms.

4) Provide 24 x 7 on-call application support in rotation with other team
members.

5) Provide support and repair, as well as escalation to the Application
Group and or Operations.

6) Develop and maintain high standards in establishing procedures and
policies to address routine jobs and certain resolution protocols.

7) Meet or exceed SLA obligations consistently and on an ongoing basis,
allow for accurate metrics to measure response time and reduce the time
needed to address hardware software failures



*Technical Experience: *

• 5+years of UNIX SA experience on Sun Solaris

• Some Linux experience preferred

• 2+ years of Performance analysis and tuning

• Knowledge of clustering tools such as Veritas Cluster server

• Experience in Perl and/or Unix shell scripting/programming skills

• Experience working in a SAN environment (EMC Symmetrix)

• Experience working with Veritas Volume Manager or equivalent.

• Experience setting up system and application monitoring tool such as
Nagios

• Experience working in different/diverse environments including OLTP and
data warehouse

1) 5+ years of managing a Windows Server environment (Windows 2003 Server
required)

2) In-depth Knowledge of VMware architecture and other virtual management
software

3) Extensive experience with Microsoft Clustering

4) Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently

5) Knowledge of Active Directory infrastructure

6) Server management on a mixed environment of Sun, IBM, Dell and HP servers


7) In-depth Knowledge of disk management with SAN, NAS and local storage
with an emphasis on disk layout and performance

8) Unix/LINUX skills desired (Not required but preferred).

9) Understanding of High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster
Recovery concepts
