Job Description and Scope: * The SAP Business Intelligence (BI) Architect Consultant’s primary responsibilities for this role is to evaluate the application and database performance characteristics of existing SAP production and development instances with regard to computing and network resource utilization, and makes recommendations to improve application performance. The Consultant will work with the Districts SAP Solutions Center Basis staff, and the Information Technology Department’s system, database and network administrators to develop solutions to application and database performance limitations through sizing and tuning recommendations. The Consultant will evaluate functional performance criteria to formulate sizing requirements for new SAP implementations, and to design performance tests to validate sizing for new and upgraded SAP instances. *2. **Specific Deliverables**:* · Research and evaluate computer, network and database performance characteristics, and make recommendations for solutions to observed performance issues, and for the enhancement of performance with respect to future system growth. · Perform SAP sizing tasks by gathering functional requirements and applying them to SAP sizing guidelines. Provide sizing recommendations for proposed new or upgraded SAP instances. · Gather functional and technical performance requirements and use these to design and perform stress and load testing of new or upgraded SAP production applications. · Manage District communication with SAP with regards to all technical performance issues · Report all evaluations and recommendations in writing *3. **Job Qualifications**:* The consultant must possess the following skills and abilities: · Ability to develop detailed technical specifications for FRICE objects · Ability to perform functional and technical unit testing, creating test scripts and participating in integration testing with appropriate end-user and technical groups. · Ability to identify, analyze, assign and/or complete assigned problem tickets · Ability to make reasonable efforts to ensure systems availability is at or above committed service levels · Ability to assist teams on other projects in order to ensure successful integration of SAP and non-SAP functionality providing Level 2 SAP Solution Center support · Ability to code and test software that meets the design specifications; maintain and repair applications to keep them performing in accordance with technical and functional specifications; work in both the R/3 and the Business Warehouse environment. · Ability to test, modify, and document the system configuration · Ability to document all designs and technical specifications, · Ability to document all issues related to process design and implementation in the SAP BI area. · Ability to configure, develop and test SAP BI functionality as required for production support & PBF Project Support. *4. Required Work Experience:* · Minimum 10 years SAP Basis ABAP WAS experience · Minimum 5 years SAP JAVA WAS administration experience.
