They will need to translate business requirements into detailed specifications from which programs will be developed. Senior Business Systems Analysts need to have a good understanding of the business or function for which an application is designed, and will work with the development team in conjunction with the business to develop acceptance and test criteria. Senior Business Systems Analysts will perform testing and quality assurance reviews. Senior Business Systems Analysts will periodically act in a project management role, including work planning, supervision, and responsibility for project completion and user satisfaction. *General Responsibilities:* - Responsible for *developing requirements, system flows, *and *program specifications* for an assigned business area. - Responsible for working with end users, vendors, programmers and other stakeholder to ensure that system designs meet *business requirements. * - Responsible for communicating the status of assigned activities with the implementation team throughout the life cycle of system. - Responsible for developing acceptance criteria and test plans to ensure a quality product. Works with programmers, vendors, and end users to ensure system changes and modifications are adequately tested and meet the acceptance criteria. - Ensures that the system documentation adequately reflects the *system design specifications*. - Assists in developing of, and adherence to *system development standards*. - Builds expertise in assigned business areas, and provides service to assigned departments. - Participates in system support activities. - Periodically act in a project management role, including work planning, supervision, and responsibility for project completion and user satisfaction. - Responsible for learning and understanding *business strategy, IT strategy *and* IT standards*. - Maintains and leverages information technology proficiency. - Other duties may be assigned. *Education Required:* - Bachelor*s Degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university, or six years of an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Skills Required:* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to understand and meet *end-user requirements*. - Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. - Analytical skills necessary to identify, design and help implement computer-based solutions. Experience in *process analysis*. - Ability to make difficult decisions based upon the available information in a timely fashion.
