Title: Ruby on Rails

Location is SFO,CA

Contract position. 6 month plus



Two positions

1)        *One VERY Senior Ruby/Rails architect*

* *

a.       This person MUST be a Ruby-On-Rails “SUPER-EXPERT”; with extensive
exposure & experience with MVC frameworks

b.      MUST have some serious ability (and experience) to train for RoR –
in classroom type environment at customer site

c.       MUST be able to take difficult technical questions from team and
give immediate/practical/proven solutions and relate them to
PHP/perl/other-frameworks; and demonstrate implementation with prototype
creation (in Ruby) when immediate reference may not be available.

d.      The vision for this person is to “understand” current architecture
at high level (from in-house leads), “develop & drive standards” for ruby
web application development, collect different scenarios/questions from the
team on a weekly-basis and prepare for half-day training sessions in a
classroom type environment every week for the entire team and drive
consistency. So, person must be able to deliver the message in a concise,
yet complete manner with examples/code-samples that are developed (both
to-do-examples & not-to-do-examples) to bring consistency of development
practice across the team, glance over completed code for adherence to Ruby
development standards (but not necessarily for application completeness and
application logic – which is the developer & team-lead responsibility).

endeavor; and not having this person in your organization will not impact
any consideration for engagement of item(2) below. But – sending a wrong
person/resume for this position will seriously impact your candidacy as a
provider. We are reviewing other organizations to help with this person as
well; If you don’t have this person, but know of other outfits that do
specialize in this kind of person, please let me know.



*2)*      *Four positions *

a.       Must have some serious Ruby on Rails development experience –
ideally in customer facing internet web applications.

b.      Understanding of PHP with MVC frameworks is great plus; but not
necessary if compensated by strong Ruby experience.
