The managers are finding that the candidates are getting better but the one thing they are lacking is working outside of a "structured" environment. Many of the folks they have interviewed come from a very structured environment and they are concerned that this person may not be a good fit as this person should make up their own queries. This person may be higher level but must do basic things when required (example: writing code, suspended messages). Here is an additional note from the manager: We need to just emphasize that we need hands on development experience in BizTalk 2009 or 2006 R2, practical experience, not just theory. Top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming. Acts independently under general direction. Provides technical leadership on complex projects. May act as expert in business or functional area. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. May be responsible for multiple phases of a project. May have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications systems analysis and programming personnel. May have quality assurance review responsibilities.
