Position: Senior Unix Systems Administrator
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 1 Year (Contract)
Rate: Negotiable
*Job summary:*
- Perform server Hardware support, Server Administration duties for
Solaris and Redhat Linux.
- Perform script writing and disk space & tape management.
- Provide technical support for software application development, DBAs,
and other support staff.
- General SAN administration knowledge.
- Legato Networker and Avamar experience a plus.
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience*
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Extensive
experience desired.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as 5 years experience desired
in operating systems include:
- Unix
- Sun Solaris
- HPUX, Linux
- Windows 2003 & 2008
- TCP/IP
- Security Skills
- Veritas
*Primary duties and responsibilities:*
- *Maintain Server and Storage Hardware Installation of rack mount and
tower server hardware in standard 80 inch racks within the confined spaces
of Companys Computer rooms including:*
- Installation of power cords under 24 inch raised floor
- Installation of fiber and/or network cables in 96 inch tall overhead
cable raceways
- Installation of memory, CPU, Disk drives and other server hardware.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and work from a step ladder at
heights up to 96”
- Performance Management
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics
*Maintain Operating Systems Software and Applications:*
- Unix
- Storage
- Legato
- Avamar
- Veritas
- 24x7 Oncall support on a rotational basis
- Help Desk Ticket resolution
- Adhere to ITRM and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Adhere to DSA, standards, policy and procedures
- Work location OJRP and occasionally Innsbrook
- Work environment Office and Datacenter computer rooms
