*General Skill set requirements:  *

Requires the ability to provide systems support to the business areas using
Communication, Problem Solving, Research and Analysis and Requirements
elicitation skills.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.








Specific Skill set requirements:



Property Casualty Insurance Knowledge/Background is required. Knowledge of
AMS Agency Management Systems (using SunGard EIM)- Experience in a customer
support role required.



*As a Business Systems Consultant, job duties will be –*



·         Acts as the primary contact facilitates communication between IT
and assigned customers. Balances the customer and IT viewpoints in project
decisions and assist with managing customer expectations.

·         Identifies and coordinates the collection of production support
problems. Identifies stakeholders affected by problem, and elicits and
validates the business impact, and short-term and long-term needs for
problem resolution. Works with customers to determine if the problem is
related to system functionality, business process flaws or user error.

·         Participates in the resolution of production support issues by
working with affected business users, developers, testers and operations
personnel. Develops and overall resolution plan, including objectives, tasks
and deliverables. Schedules, prioritizes and delegates support work as
required. Monitors progress, identifies and manages impacts and risks, and
reports resolution status to business users and management.

·         Applies business process analysis techniques to determine
short-term and long-term business impact, solution feasibility, and to
develop short-term workarounds.

·         Participates in post-production support phase of project
lifecycles to gain expertise in the new environment and transition to
ongoing support.

·         Facilitates the prioritization of production support based on
business severity and impact.

·         Works with IT application release team to package problem fixes
into releases. Communicates release information to affected users and
coordinates any post-production issues as necessary.

·         Provides subject matter expertise on systems and business
processes as required for definition and validation of requirements,
solution design, implementation planning, testing and support of production
systems.

·         Applies methods for determining root cause, analyzing and
mitigating business process impact, and exercising problem management.

·         Applies methods for eliciting and validating project requirements.
Identifies project stakeholders and executes the elicitation, recording and
validation of requirements.

·         In conjunction with the project teams, the business, corporate
learning and technical communications, participates in the development of
project plans and materials for business training, documentation and
implementation. Coordinates implementation tasks with business users.
Coordinates project announcements in conjunction with corporate
communications.

·         Maintains an understanding of the supported customer business
environments through research, regular customer contact, participation in
project requirements, quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing
phases. Maintains knowledge in supported applications, system interfaces and
underlying system architecture. Remains current with and applies IT
processes, methods and tools.

·         Researches ideas for system enhancements with customers and IT
experts. Submits recommendations to business consulting functional manages
and business technology strategists.
