Remedy is the problem ticket program they use and it is a priority to have experience with Remedy. Also, if familiar with CIMS, Crystal Reports, SSIS, and SQL - these are their primary tools that are used. Also, Visual Basic and visual scripting experience is a plus. Position is in Reston only. Database Analyst ** Use databases and relevant software to plan, design, and execute extractions of data and reports from the database. Work with business unit customer and/or other technical staff to design effective and efficient reports or other analytical use of data. Evaluate credibility, reliability, and utility of data in test or early iteration reports or data extractions and recommend more productive approaches. May develop standardized reporting formats or develop customizations of existing reports. Confer with business unit end user of data or developer using data in database to understand technical requirements or business needs for report, analysis, or extraction of data. Design format of report or query in manner best suited to satisfy these needs; may test data and verify data integrity. Extract data using standard database platform or query tool; assess and quality control data retrieved against criteria agreed upon. Analyze data in manner specified; may reformat into file format specified by customer. Report data and/or analysis to customer. Answer questions regarding tables, data used or excluded, first pass inferences from analysis, ways of using report for business purposes.
