*Role: Performance Engineer* *Location: Austin/Redwood SHores* *Duration: 6 + months Contract* Primary Responsibilities: • Designs, develops, writes, tests, implements and reports on performance tests for all eCommerce platform components • Works with other Engineers and QA to determine test harnesses • Provides insight and suggestions for increased scalability or performance based on test results • Ability to manipulate/manage all parts of the software and hardware stack (load balancers, web servers, application servers, database instances) • Estimates his/her schedules and delivers high quality work products to that schedule • Maintain documentation and promote a culture of performance awareness Requirements: • Demonstrated performance load testing large commercial applications and web services • Demonstrated strong proficiency in Java • Strong expertise in load testing tools like JMeter, NeoLoad or other tools • Excellent attention to detail • Knowledge of REST-based API integration paradigms • Solid object-oriented design, programming, and debugging skills • Highly motivated self-starter, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision • Degree in Computer Science or related subject.
