Network Security Engineer Location: Boston, MA Duration: 5+ months Rate: Market *Required Skills:* - Need 5+ years of experience in a security or network management, design and or project management role with a focus on 4-tier security architecture including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention, web filtering and anti-virus layers. -Must have Checkpoint, SecurePlatform, Cisco IPS, BlueCoat, AirMagnet, Mazu, VeriSign, Tumbleweed, and NetIQ. -In-depth knowledge of Cisco hardware, IOS and NX-OS -Must have experience with design, implementation, and support of security related problems in an enterprise environment with expertise in security disciplines such as firewalls, intrusion prevention, wireless defense solutions, secure file transfers, web filtering, and operational monitoring. -Must have working knowledge of Internet Protocols/Services such as DNS, SMTP, TCP/IP, HTML, FTP, SSH, IPSec VPN's, HTTP, SSL, and Certificate authorities. -Must Possesses analytical and troubleshooting skills and documented experience. -Must have proven experience in business and technical development of internal policies and procedures with accountability achieved through technical products. (i.e. HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, etc compliancy) -Comprehensive knowledge of network and security principles - minimum six years’ experience -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Must know when to ask for assistance, and when to give assistance. Must be approachable, teachable, a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding their experience in a highly evolving security focused environment. -Must be willing to work nights and weekends if required in response to minimized business interruption during planned or unplanned security system modifications.
