* <s...@regalsys.com>* *Job Title : WebLogic Administrator, * *Location: Shrewsbury, MA., * *Duration:12 months, * *Will require face to face interview after successful phone screen* General Summary • Take responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the WebLogic environment • Assist in the evaluation and research of hardware/system and 3rd party software and conduct feasibility studies to determine appropriate solutions • Communicate well with users, application specialists, developers, technical infrastructure staff and project management through all phases of development and support • Carry out duties in a manner consistent with a complex, diverse, dynamic hardware and software environment that serves a multi-campus university community • Interact effectively (verbally, written, etc.) with users, vendors and management to ensure the delivery and use of application is consistent with agreed upon project goals • Continue development of skills and expertise in present and emerging technologies by participating in formal training when possible and by independent self-teaching and tutorials • On-Call support is required and included as part of the compensation Qualifications and Specific Skills • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in information systems, computer science or related field. • 5-7 years demonstrated Application Development or Support experience with the following focus: WebLogic, RedHat and Java, J2EE experience • Proven experience deploying WebLogic architectures, weblogic upgrades, performance tuning • Familiarity with Unix and Microsoft Windows at a system administration level • 3-5 demonstrated progressive experience using Oracle Databases and SQL query tools • Solid interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships • Ability to think clearly and take best course of action in high-pressure situations • Ability to change focus and change direction as business needs change. Ability to multi-task • Extensive experience planning, designing and implementing necessary changes to production and non-production WebLogic clusters • Significant experience supporting WebLogic servers for production mission critical applications • Extensive Unix and Linux experience.
