Rate: Open Duration: 12 months + PRIMARY PURPOSE: Looking for a .NET Solutions Architect to work as part of the Enterprise Architecture Team supporting Application Development. The ideal candidate will have expert level experience in Microsoft .NET technologies as outlined below. The candidate will work as part of the Architecture team but will have specific responsibility supporting the Application Architecture needs of NYC and CT Application Development Teams. The candidate will be relied upon to assist in application design and prototyping while following and contributing to Reference Architecture standards. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum. Candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate risks at all levels in the organization. Candidate is expected to have a broad understanding of the enterprise IT environment in either a hardware or software capacity. Customer Focus - Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Communicates with customers, colleagues and fellow support organizations in a manner that builds effective working relationships. TECHNICAL KNOWLDEGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Experience: At least 5 years of .NET Solutions Architecture experience with at least 1 year in an Enterprise environment. Full lifecycle experience acting in an architect role on projects with up to 5 developers. Demonstrable experience architecting integrative enterprise solutions not just software architecture experience. Experience integrating with SSRS, SSAS, AD, Exchange, and SharePoint a plus. Strong experience providing technical leadership in projects that implement Formal and Agile methodology SDLC by leveraging ALM technologies such as Rational UCM or Microsoft TFS. Specific TFS and Scrum experience a plus. Experience architecting solutions that leverage Microsoft Enterprise Library and custom enterprise application blocks such as validation or security. Experience developing application blocks a plus. Expert knowledge: Object-oriented Analysis (OOA), Object-oriented Design (OOD), Object-oriented Programming (OOP) (An object oriented development expert) .NET CLR and .NET Runtime (A .NET expert). - .NET Class Library Design guidelines. SQL Server and TSQL - SSIS, SSRS, SSAS expertise a plus. Creating, mentoring, and monitoring development guidelines within a team environment. Strong knowledge: Full SDLC experience Able to identify qualities of good artifacts: Requirements, Test Plans, Architecture and Design documents. Able to provide technical leadership in a dynamic team environment. ALM skills - Work Item Tracking & Version Control concepts (branching, merging, code promotions). Presentation technologies: Silverlight, WPF. (silverlight preferred) Web technologies: WCF, HTML, XML, XML Schema, WSDL ASP.NET Web Forms Software architectures: MVC, MVP, MVVM. Office and design tools: Word, Excel, Visio, Database Modeling tools, UML diagrams, etc. Familiarity with : SharePoint development BizTalk development. MQ development a plus. Foundation technologies: WF, WIF, AppFabric, Azure SOA and BPM concepts Trends: RX Framework, Code Contracts, WCF Data Services, WCF RIA Services, TPL, PLINQ, Dryad, Midori Server Software: AD, MS System Center TDD skills such as unit testing and mocking. Experience with MSTest and RhinoMocks a plus. Dependency Injection (DI) (aka. IoC) frameworks. Experience with Unity a plus. BUSINESS KNOWLDEGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Experience developing financial applications and understanding financial concepts are desired but not required. 2. Experience supporting and developing applications for Equity investment groups specifically trading systems, trade order entry systems, decision support portfolio management systems, and/or quantitative equity software is a strong plus. 3. Investment Management background is a strong plus. 4. Knowledge of Investment Management Compliance rules and experience developing software to enforce these rules is a plus.
