Job Title: *Network Architect*
Location: Reston, VA
Duration: *6+ Months Contract  *

*Must-haves *
*5 years experience as a Network Architect*
At least 5 recent years in an *architecture or engineering* role engaged
with *IP network technologies* including BGP/OSPF routing, *L2/L3 switching*,
*traffic engineering, network security, and network virtualization* in
large scale multi-site data center environments.
Experience with firewall, intrusion detection and prevention, security
virtualization, and IPv6 technologies a plus.
Hands-on knowledge with *Cisco Nexus* products highly preferred.
Hands-on knowledge with at least two of the following: *firewall, IPSec VPN
and IDS/IPS* (Checkpoint, Cisco, SourceFire), F5 *LTM/GTM* load balancing,
and Bluecoat web proxy.
Knowledge of prevailing and next generation network and security
technologies.
Experience working with a variety of constituents within and outside of IT
to drive cohesiveness while ensuring that the architectural direction! is
achieved.
Ability to perform problem analysis and develop resolutions at both
strategic and tactical levels
Ability to think on a multi-site enterprise level; be forward looking
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Hands on experience with proprietary and open source technologies

*Day-to-Day *
The Connectivity Architect is responsible for understanding industry
standards and best practices, keeping current with financial industry
trends and emerging technologies, understanding and evaluating complex
business functions and processes, IT development methodologies, operational
requirements and procedures and melding these to form a set of
comprehensive and coherent plans to support and further the business in its
endeavors. Technology Services Architecture is charged with working closely
with the Enterprise Architecture, Engineering and Operations groups to
comprehend and recognize business, industry, and technology variables
(currently in place, planned, developing and emerging) and setting the
direction of the IT organization to support current and future business
models, strategies, and processes.

Participate in development of architectural strategy, including technology
standardization and modernization of data center, enterprise and disaster
recovery network infrastructures.
Align architectural strategy with business objectives
Establish the technical principles that will guide the evolution of the
segment
Enroll operational
