These databases support several mission critical Department applications as well data warehousing and reporting activities. The position is responsible for some off hour database maintenance activities, scheduling backup jobs and alerts, as well as adding SQL software patches and performing database upgrades. A significant portion of this positions time will be devoted to supporting data warehousing activities. Knowledge of Data Warehousing, business intelligence, SSAS, SSIS and SSRS is important as well as SQL Report Manager and the interface between Reporting Services and SharePoint 2010. Another significant portion of this position's time will support staff using Report Builder 3 and their need to access data from databases. Required Skills: a.. Strong SQL writing skills in order to write stored procedures, functions and triggers is necessary as well as the ability to write SSIS packages. b.. Experience with ETS (Extraction, Transforming, and Loading) in a Data Warehouse environment will also be part of the job s responsibilities. c.. Experience with CA Erwin and data modeling expertise. d.. Experience with SQL Diagnostic Manager is part of the job and familiarity with Idera SQL Server software tools is desired. e.. Experience with large data bases is needed as well as familiarity and experience using Team Foundation Server. f..
