Java Architect Location:Buffalo, NY. Duration:9 month plus contract Solutions Architect with Java and Healthcare Payer experience. Required Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related 3+ years of Healthcare Payer business experience is desired. Knowledge of architecture frameworks. TOGAF preferred 5+ years of proven experience designing and overseeing IT projects J2EE, Sybase, DB2, Oracle, SOAP, REST, WS-Security, Net. Experience in enterprise level data warehousing and/or business intelligence. Advanced proficiency in IT Project Management and business analysis, with collaborative leadership skills Experience with data quality or data governance techniques a plus. Intermediate proficiency in Facets and Relational Concepts and Design Perform project activities Defines and designs project solution architecture to meet business requirements and enterprise standards; where enterprise standards cannot be met, documents exceptions Contribute subject matter expertise, including coaching members of project teams and/or Business Unit teams Authors solution artifacts Documents solution designs and how they interact with the larger Enterprise Architecture Owns and implements the logical and physical designs of the solution Develops Proofs of Concept to prove out designs and reduce risk to project Is responsible for technology design for technology solutions Provides hands-on technical leadership including implementing solutions Serves the project team as the technology consultant, provides input into high-level designs, evaluates and validates technologies, and conducts research to mitigate development risks early in the development process Review designs with Architecture Review Board to promote awareness of solution and obtain signoff on adherence to Reference Architecture Maps the Enterprise Reference Architecture to the solutions implementation architecture by providing solution-specific detail for application, data, and technology views of the architecture Perform special assignments as defined by management Fluency in modeling standards such as UML and BMPN. Use of Sparx or other architecture tools 2+ years’ experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and the IBM WebSphere suite, including Process Server, MQ / Message Broker, DataPower, ILOG JRules, Business Modeler. An understanding of general security protocols and standards. Ability to plan and execute work with minimal supervision. Experience creating and executing policies and procedures. Excellent communication and writing skills, with ability to frame message and facilitate discussion.
