Cognos Alexandria VA 6 months EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • US Citizenship required. Must also be capable of obtaining an IT-II clearance. • Bachelors Degree (computer science, information systems major preferred.) or additional years of development experience. • Experience building/publishing/maintaining data models using Cognos BI 8.4 (or higher) Framework Manager • Experience building/publishing/maintaining data models using Cognos BI 8.4 (or higher) Report Studio • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and client focus a must; demonstrated skills in technical documentation • Proven ability to analyze and design applications using an object oriented approach. • Ability to consistently apply quality and security standards. • Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients. • Experience with software configuration management tools. • Strong skills in troubleshooting – determine causes of errors and drive problem resolution to ensure business continuity • Ability to read and analyze complex SQL queries • Understanding of Database Performance aspects PREFERED SKILLS: • Knowledge of SQL and SQL tuning techniques • Knowledge of Cognos Transformer/PowerPlay • Knowledge of Cognos Query Studio and Analysis Studio • Experience with Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL highly desirable • Writing complex SQL statements (e.g., joining six or more tables) • Experience with web services and SOA framework. • Experience using UML diagrams in the design process. • Knowledge of file parsing • Experience working with US Federal clients • Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), smart card, or biometric technologies is a plus.
