Job Description: Primary responsibilities include working as part of a team to provide application development and support for bioinformatics unit, including analysis, tooling and genomics infrastructure to •Build Database-backed web-applications that are deployed on the Amazon cloud. •Programming duties will include Java, J2EE and accessing relational databases systems. •Work with various technologies to develop software solutions as part of research infrastructure. •Produce documentation such as systems requirements, architectural designs, and plans Basic Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field plus two years of experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. •Excellent Java & J2EE skills •Experience in database management systems such as MS-SQL Server and MySQL is required. •Must possess experience in the following development frameworks: Tomcat, Google Web Toolkit (GWT), SmartGWT, Eucalyptus , Amazon EC2 and Web technologies •Knowledge of system design principles, software development methodologies, and computer programming •Knowledge of Systems Architecture Other Qualifications: •Experience in the following areas: gene expression, genotyping, DNA sequencing, pharmacogenomics, proteomics and cytogenetics. •Experience in Eclipse, Oracle, DB2, SQL, *NIX, shell scripting, molecular biology, proteomics technologies, JDBC •In addition, knowledge of bioinformatic applications and tools such as Illumina BeadStudio, BWA, Novoalign, GATK pipeline are preferred. •Proficiency in Unix and Linux •Scripting skills Behaviour Characteristics: •Highly motivated & willing to learn new technologies •Excellent analytical, problem-solving, & technical design skills •Excellent oral and written communication & interpersonal skills Required Skills & Experience: "3 Years of experience in Java / J2EE is Required "3 Years of experience in MS-SQL Server / MySql is Required "3 Years of experience in GWT/Amazon/Eucalyptus Web Technologies is Required "3 Years of experience in Unix / Linux is Required "3 Years of experience in Apache Tomcat Web Technologies is Required Highly desired skills: "2 Years of experience in Scripting Languages Highly desired "1 Years of experience in Bioinformatics Apps Experience Highly desired Please complete the following and send back with your updated resume.
