Monitors server performance. Performs backups and restores. Assists with Disaster Recovery. Maintains a problem tracking system. Investigates and solves problems and escalates more serious issues to senior staff. Manages hardware and support calls to vendors. Assists with the implementation of H/W and S/W. Assists the technical, development, and end-user communities, if needed, with problem resolution. Assists security, scheduling, and compliance staffs with their needs. Documents procedures and policies. Maintains inventory of equipment and media. Maintains knowledge of system modifications and enhancements installed on relevant platforms. Other activities assigned: productions support on-call responsibilities. Key Skills: Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills. Must have problem solving, technical, and analytical skills. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment. Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience Experience Required: Several years of experience in UNIX Technical design and support environment.
