Currently, the Division for Blind Services (DBS) and Division for
Rehabilitation Services (DRS) have separate case management applications.
DBS uses a web-based application, TWorks, DRS a client server application
Rehabilitation Services System (RSS) in conjunction with a Buyer Support
System (BSS). DARS is pursuing the development of a single data system to
support both divisions. These applications collect the required information
for preparing state and federal reports. Since these reporting requirements
are often identical and the basic processing of the case management systems
work is similar within both divisions, consolidation has provided the
opportunity to implement one web-based case management system in DARS for
consumer services.
