*The primary responsibilities of this position are complex application
maintenance and support. With minimal supervision, provides support to
existing production applications; and, performs complex technical analysis,
design, development and implementation of new applications using existing
and emerging technology.*
Under minimal direction and support provides application analysis, solution
design, documentation, integration, development, testing and deployment.
Provides mentoring and knowledge transfer to Application Developers
including providing input to performance evaluations, training and
developing staff and assigning work to staff and directs the workflow
assigned to his/her area of jurisdiction. Support complex business process,
problem analysis and consultation. Process complex open defect/maintenance
tickets and correct complex technical errors. Ensure application, P2P and
promotion package documentation is current and complete. Provide after hours
"on call" support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, computer information
systems or related field required or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree an
additional five (5) years of development/support experience required in
addition to the experience requirement listed below.
*At least 2 years of experience: *
Business Objects and/or BRIO (or similar reporting application) experience
required.
*OR*
Informatica Power Center and Informatica Power Exchange (or similar ETL
application) experience required.
*Five (5) years experience working in a support/development environment
required including: *
Minimum three to five (3 - 5) years' *Relational database* (Sybase or
Oracle) development and debugging experience (Transact-SQL, PL/SQL, stored
procedures, triggers, indexes, etc.)
Minimum three to five (3 - 5) years *data mapping, translation, and
conversion* experience required.
Minimum three to five (3 - 5) years *structured and ad hoc report design and
development* experience required.
Minimum three to five (3 - 5) years' *development experience in data
warehouse and data mart* environments.
Understanding of data warehouse modeling techniques including Star and
Snowflake schemas.
Understanding and following SDLC methodology required.
Testing procedures including creation of test cases/scripts, test data and
validation of results required.
Experience with coordinating activities/timelines with multiple projects
required.

Java, J2EE, C++, and/or Visual Basic application development experience

The Senior Data Modeler is primarily responsible for defining business data
requirements and translating those data requirements into logical and
physical database models. The design of the database models will include
operational databases, analytical data warehouses, and specific data marts
designed to support batch, operational, and analytical processing and ad hoc
business reporting.

Develop Business/Subject Area Logical Data Models, Data Flow Diagrams.
Develop detailed mapping documents that will provide the reporting and data
warehouse team with source to target data mapping which will include logical
names, physical names, data types, corporate meta-data definitions, and
translation rules.
Ability to work with other subject matter experts to develop data storage
strategies to support company needs.
Define, develop, and implement joint data testing strategies with the
business and IT QA.
Directs quality control and auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use
of data.
Perform data analysis on production data issues.
Must be team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with all levels of
staff and management.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to
express oneself recognizing that communication is more than just language -
it includes tone, style and structure.
Able to read and interpret documents including process, procedure, and
