Please send the resumes at pe...@cncconsulting.com Job Title: Network Engineer Location: Washington, DC Duration: 12 Months *Note: Only US Citizen* The Network Engineer will help troubleshoot and support existing production networking infrastructure (Cisco routers and switches) as well as newly installed technologies. RESPONSIBILITIES (At a minimum, the contractor shall): Be responsible for monitoring network utilization to ensure the network infrastructure accommodates customer traffic, helps reduce operational costs, and establishes a foundation for future services. Be responsible for monitoring all network devices using diagnostics application tools currently in place, to include any future additions to the hardware configuration. Provide switch and router configuration and firmware upgrades. Provide switch, router, and VLAN administration. Provide Cisco ASA firewall administration. Provide on-site maintenance for the LAN/WAN system, including switches, routers, cabling, etc. Install network components/hardware as changes or failures occur. Update the inventory of equipment to reflect changes in components/hardware. Accurately document network changes and ensure that all existing network documentation is revised to accurately depict the current state of the UNICOR network. Maintain network telecommunications configuration. Install patches. Support implementation of configuration/change management processes and support tracking and reporting of such changes. Develop Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) artifacts (i.e. Systems Design Document, Integration Test Plan). Produce weekly status report of task/work completed. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQIDREMENTS EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems (Required) CERTIFICATIONS a. At a minimum the contractor must have one of the following certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Routing and Switching Data Center Security b.Preferred certifications or experience in one of the following disciplines: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) Routing and Switching Data Center Security REQUIREMENTS Under this operational and developmental requirement, the contract personnel must have experience or demonstrate a working knowledge in the following: Demonstrate a working knowledge of VPN, ASA, and other border security configuration strategies. Experience with features (e.g. Cisco NX-OS Image Recovery), architecture, and usage of the Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS) software. Experience with Cisco Nexus 5000 and 7000 Series Switch installation, system architectures, chassis, and components. Experience securing the operation of Cisco Nexus 5000 and 7000 Series Switches. Experience with configuration of Ethernet port channels and virtual port channels (vPC) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) protocol on Cisco Nexus 5000 and 7000 Series Switches. Experience with configuring Policy-Based Routing (PBR). Experience with configuring Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders. Experience with Cisco Secure Access configuration management, including 802.1x, NAP/NAC, IPV6, and ACS. Experience and in depth hands-on knowledge of network/ internet protocols/ services, such as DS3, T1, GigE, OSPF, EIGRP, BOP, DNS, and IPSec. Experience with Network documentation and monitoring tools such as: Visio, HP Network Node Manager, SolarWinds, Network Physics, Sniffer, PRTG, and Cisco works. Experience developing strategic plans, standards, guidelines, and policies for the Network resources based on growth, trends, available metrics and industry standards Experience coordinating change planning and formal change control processes to systems, in order to eliminate customer impact and ensure that availability SLAs are met. Demonstrate knowledge of and skills in applying current internetworking technology configuration design and security principles in compliance with government policies, standards, and guidelines. Demonstrate a knowledge of and ability to assist in the process of enhancing networking configurations pursuant to security certification and network accreditation, as part of an Enterprise Vulnerability Management program.
