Projects will vary in size from small to medium, and the individual will be responsible for interpreting business requirements, designing and developing solutions to meet those requirements. The individual will be responsible for addressing multiple projects concurrently and will prepare technical documentation, perform development and testing, and implement projects in a fast paced environment. Additionally, on call and some off hours support of the applications is required. The ability to independently lead and solve complex technical problems in a timely manner is essential. *Position Overview* Under general supervision, the contractor assists in application software development efforts for system enhancement requests of moderate complexity. Working from detailed specification, the contractor performs application system design, and application coding. Efforts may include activities associated with the installation and modifications to packaged application software. Responsibilities also include system testing, system debugging and documentation of software modifications. The contractor will be involved in production system problem resolution and will provide off-hour support. Contractor interacts with all members of application development, business analysis team and business service partners to successfully implement system enhancement requests. Provides testing and implementation support for moderately complex business and technology projects. The contractor will apply skills to facilitate the successful implementation and on-going support of new and existing systems. Continue to develop business and technical knowledge to prepare for more complex project assignments. Follows approved systems development processes. The contractor must also ensure their job responsibilities are performed in a manner consistent with corporate and technology risk management standards. *Required Skills:* - Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with 3 plus years experience - Experience *supporting vendor software* - Experience with *Windows NT operating systems* - Experience with *DOS commands for .bat files* - Formal experience in understanding and application of the Systems Development Life Cycle *(SDLC) *and working in a structured project methodology environment - Experience *preparing accurate technical work estimates, technical requirements, and design documentation* is essential - Ability to work in a team environment and to understand and apply business requirements to design, develop, implement and support PNC vendor and in-house applications - Experience developing and supporting applications utilizing *MS SQL* and *Crystal Reports* - Experience with *Opalis, CA7 scheduling tool and Harvest (Change Control system)* is preferred - Experience with *Crystal Enterprise and Enterprise Manager* is preferred - Solid understanding of *relational database concepts, data modeling and database query tools*. *Preferred Skills:* - Experience with Mercury QC and CA Clarity Project Management software - Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, Visio) - Familiarity with Lotus Notes is a plus - FTP/SFTP/FTPS experience is a plus - Experience with *financial services applications* is a plus *Success Factors:* The candidate should possess the following competencies. 1.
