Description:  

 

Network Engineer, Load Balancer Team This position is for a Network Engineer
within the DCS Load Balancing team. The engineer will be responsible for
production support and implementation work, shared with the rest of the
engineering team. Project work will be assigned based on availability and
need, but will include items such as internal projects to develop the
infrastructure, testing new products for compatibility, working on projects
for Business customers including design review, recommendations, game plan
development and review. Engineering Duties: . The Engineer will provide 24/7
F5 production support during the on-call shift (level 2 support role) and to
provide level 3 support (design, consulting, and implementation) for all
other times. . The Engineer will participate in a regular on call rotation
for production support of Citrix Netscaler devices. During on call shifts,
they are responsible for being available 7x24 to respond to outage work
requests or to coordina!

 te a backup engineer in the case they are not available. . The Engineer's
work hours will vary depending on work load and project requirements. Wells
Fargo bases its business hours on Pacific Time so work hours may shift to
accommodate customer needs and may not necessarily be during regular
business hours. . The Engineer will be responsible for updating all
applicable Problem Tickets and resolutions in Pac2000. When not on call, the
engineer should be available during regular business hours. . The Engineer
will lead troubleshooting efforts, even where other technology teams may be
ultimately responsible. . The Engineer will be assigned to Change Request
work, both daytime and evening implementations, including game plan reviews
and planning sessions prior to installs, based on assignments given by the
group's team lead. These projects can include work to support new
functionality, OS updates, OS hot fixes, decommissioning devices,
configuration changes, etc. . The Engineer!

  may be assigned as a lead or backup on larger project impleme!

 ntations

. These will require regular attendance at technical meetings, giving
guidance to groups involved with the project, and doing and/or delegating
all work that is applicable to F5 Hosting as a part of this project. . The
Engineer must be a self starter for all assignments, must ensure consistency
in our approach to projects, and must contribute to on-time deliveries of
assigned tasks and projects. . The Engineer will be responsible for
attending all regular team functions when available (not on call) - daily
team meetings, weekly staff meetings, etc. Product 

 

Knowledge Required: . Strong Unix OS knowledge . Minimum 2 years work
experience in technical support role working with relevant technologies .
Experience working with LAN and WAN topologies, TCP/IP protocol, routers,
switches, and firewalls in Internet, Intranet and Extranet . DNS (Unix)
Administrator Server experience 

 

Product Knowledge Preferred: . Prior F5 or competitive products knowledge
and experience strongly desired . Network protocols and concepts . Microsoft
NT and Red Hat Linux . Scripting . Security concepts . Successful completion
of Netscaler Basic and Advanced Training . CCIE and/or Netscaler
certification . Web Server and/or application administration experience .
Experience with GateD, NameD, SSH, TCP dump, OSPF, BGP, static and dynamic
routing highly desired. 

 

Skills Required: . System Administration experience for at least 3 years .
Experience in complex enterprise environments, providing production support
and change support . Knowledge of networking and security concepts,
including, networking protocols, interoperation with firewalls and load
balancers . Excellent communication skills, both written and oral . Excel in
problem solving and troubleshooting including the use of various tools,
facilities, and equipment to replicate/solve customer issues. . Must be a
self-starter, well-organized, and able to lead or follow depending on the
situation. . Must be able to work with!

  customers at varying levels of experience and technical capab!

 ility under varying time constraints . Must have the ability to use a
computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material
