Position: *Network Engineer* Duration: 12 Month Location: New York; NY Rate: ALAP *JOB DESCRIPTION:* Minimum 7 Years of hands on technical experience working in a *CISCO environment including CISCO Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPN*. Minimum 3 years of hands on technical experience working with *Checkpoint Firewalls, Juniper Routers/Switches/VPN/SSL, McAfee Security Products and Netmotion VPN*. Experience with *SONET, ATM, TCP/IP, DWDM, OSPF, RIP, ARP, BGP, VLAN’s, EIGRP, COE, and GRE* Experience with *implementing and maintaining Radius, DNS, Solar winds and Juniper SPACE/STRM/SSL* Experience with *Security hardware* including Proxies, Firewalls, SSL and VPN Excellent verbal, communication and writing skills Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and strong Visio skills. Strong security awareness and focus; knowledge of security policies, principles, D/R and Backup Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle critical situations in a *24x7 environment* Experience with large IT projects and utilizing Project Management skills *Network certifications including CCNA & CCNP are desired. CCIE is a plus* Familiar with Public Safety Security systems and technologies such as Lenel, Intergraph, CISCO VSOM, Activu, Pivot3, ONSSI, Voice Print, and Zetron are a plus. Must be able to lift 50 lb *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* ° Design, Install, Implement, Configure, Administer and maintain *all CISCO & Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, VPN’s, SSL, software and appliances* . ° Review and fine tune network and system performance, produce reports in Solar winds on system and network availability/status.
