Title: UNIX/Linux Sys Admin 28810 posted on 2014-11-11 17:37:03 Job Description:*UNIX/Linux Sys Admin 28810* *Herndon, VA 20170* *18 months* Job Description: IT Support Specialist II provides Level-2 production support for medium-high complexity applications. Develops solutions and resolves a wide range of issues, as necessary. Escalates unresolved issues to proper personnel. Provides senior-level end-user support, which may include: providing systems administration assistance, coordinating stakeholder discussions, updating user documentation or conducting training, and other tasks requiring collaboration with development, testing, infrastructure, and project management teams. Will participate in design reviews to ensure adherence to standards and processes , and stability of Production applications. Also expected to be able to assess functioning of overall technology and look for ways to upgrade and optimize systems in the future. The position will require a pager/cell, provide 24x7 off-hours/on-call rotation support as needed on weekends and holiday, and respond in a timely manner.
