*Position    = PROJECT MANAGER EXPERT  with operation exp. in an advisory

 If someone has a lot of relevant experience on the Investment Operations
and business integration side. They will need to understand - Investment
Operations (specifically in or for an asset management firm (Middle Office,
Back Office, Pricing, NAV, etc.) - Knowledge of PAM and Portia and BBG
systems a huge plys - General systems aptitude a must Travel (Toronto
Canada ) maybe required.


As part of the Investment Division, Investment Operations, the successful
candidate will be responsible for planning and managing various
initiatives. Adhering to Manulife delivery methodology, the candidate will
be responsible to provide overall direction across various disciplines for
successful completion of large-scale programs and projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing one or more complex or high impact projects
affecting multiple business units or divisions Develop and maintain
project plans, resource utilization schedules and budget materials for
multiple simultaneous projects and operational activities
Report to Business Unit Leads to prioritize projects based on the
requirements of the organization, the recommended solution and the
estimated effort and resources required to satisfy both project execution
and tracking
Coordinate and drive project activities to report and deliver required
functionality on time and within budget Closely monitor project resources,
tasks, risks and milestones. Make course corrections when necessary using
defined change control procedures Provide accountability for the financial
management and budgeting process for projects
Provide people leadership across all disciplines of solutions delivery
life cycle
Responsible for managing all day to day project activities for a team of
individual contributors spanning cross-site locations
Direct activities, assign responsibilities, set expectations and motivate
team members towards achieving program / project objectives
Provide input into vendor negotiations and manage vendor within defined
contract parameters Prepare management reports for project sponsor and
develop gating documents
Contribute to the development / improvement of project management /
departmental processes Education and Experience
At least five years of experience within the Investment Management
industry
Five plus years of proven project or program management experience,
preferably in investment industry
University Degree
PMP is a plus Skills / Knowledge
Solid understanding of Financial Services and Investment Management
Strategies and Products
Practical experience working on Investment Management projects
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Experience with large-scale systems development projects and process
redesign efforts
Excellent analytic, problem solving, business judgment and organizational
skills
