·         *Strong SQL skills including hands-on experience with NoSQL,
Postgres and GreenplumDB*

·         *Hands-on experience with Kerberos and ingestion tools: Sqoop and
Flume*

You will be accountable for engineering of the clients Industrial Cloud
infrastructure framework in support of the Predix platform, with a focus on
delivery of automated deployment, monitoring, and remediation capabilities
for cloud services at web scale, in fully virtualized IaaS and PaaS
operating environments.


In this role, you will:

·         Automate delivery of cloud based solutions built on the client
Predix platform, as well as making key contributions into product
requirements and delivery of the common operating infrastructure for
services including monitoring, HA, performance, security, and availability

·         Build a fully automated, highly elastic cloud orchestration
framework over multiple IaaS providers including AWS, OpenStack, and Azure,
leveraging third generation deployment automation and configuration
management frameworks such as Chef

·         Implement and execute automated monitoring and remediation
services to ensure high availability and performance of services at scale

·         Participate in the implementation of some or all of the other
common operational infrastructure in distributed cloud environments
including:

o   Security, encryption, AAA

o   Logging and log aggregation

o   Load balancing and DNS

·         Engineer requirements for As-A-Service offerings working with
Platform and Services development teams

·         Define and automate procedures for ongoing service operations of
production services

·         Utilize advanced Python and Bash scripting skills centered around
enabling a DevOps model

·         Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders

·         Provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field

·         Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java software development,
cloud/online service engineering/automation or cloud/online service
operations

·         Deep experience with at least one third generation automation and
configuration management solution such as Chef

·         Advanced scripting skills using Python and Bash

·         Experience with implementing monitoring tools such as Nagios,
Graphite, Zabbix, etc

*Purpose:*
To provide Technical Support for the Predix Cloud (The Software Platform
for the Industrial Internet). The Cloud Services Support Engineer needs to
have experience with supporting applications on the cloud that have
services-based architectures; strong communication skills, and a motivation
to achieve results in a fast paced environment.


*Essential Responsibilities:*

·         You will be accountable for taking direct support cases from
users of the GE’s Industrial Cloud PAAS customers

·         Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique
solutions to our customers' individual needs

·         Trouble-shoot application alerts from monitoring tools and follow
necessary playbook steps to resolve or escalate appropriately.

·         Work directly with Service architects to help reproduce and
resolve customer issues

·         Drive customer communication during critical events

·         Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our
customers’ technical support experience

·         Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for
the customer community

·         Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span
multiple services

·         Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

·         Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders

·         Provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables

*Qualifications / Requirements:*

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or minimum of 5 years of
experience in software development/service engineering/automation or
cloud/online service operations

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud/online service
operations or SAAS Technical Support

·         Minimum of 3 years experience as Java developer or Unix
Administration
