*Network Engineer* *Madison WI* *Long term* Principally responsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks and components required to support Voice Over IP (VoIP). Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product specifications to support VoIP. Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support of VoIP. Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects for VoIP. Provides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions and services for VoIP. Requires experience in the technical services and support field as well as experience in network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.) as they relate to VoIP. Network Engineer capabilities with 5 or more years of experience in VoIP, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Preferred experience with Cisco on premise VOIP solutions (call manager, premise, IPCCX, unity, expressway); cloud solutions, Adtran and MS Lync. Background with PSTN interfaces such as ISDN PRI/BRI, FXO and FXS.
