We need candidates who can design data centers or campus.* *Sr. Network Engineer with 5 years of design, installing and configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc. qualified candidates will also have demonstrated design experience.* Currently hiring for a Senior Network Engineer for our premier in Chicago's suburbs. *Job Description:* The Sr. Engineer will be responsible for working with different business units to develop the engineering design to support business and operational requirements for new and current IT strategy. This a hands on Engineering role where the right candidate will functions as a leader in strategy, design and support. Key responsibilities span four areas: design; assessment and strategy; support; and leadership. *Qualifications:* - Bachelors of Science Degree and 5 years work experience - Understanding of network connectivity for physical and virtualized servers - Experience designing, installing and configuring network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc. - Intermediate understanding of the communication network using TCP/IP protocol. *Technical Qualifications:* - Qualified candidates will have extensive Network experience any of the follow certs are nice to have *Cisco CCNA or CCNP Certification, CCIE preferred* - Prior hands on experience with Cisco networks extensive experience with in an enterprise environment - Qualified candidates must have demonstrated design experience - Knowledge of networking protocols such Domain Name Server (DNS), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) - Knowledge of IP routing protocols and implementations (Exposure to F5 highly desired) - Experience with VMWare Data Center Virtualization or End User Computing certifications are nice to have *Duties and Responsibilities:* - Perform day-to-day operation, administration and maintenance of load balancing units located in multiple data centers. - Analyze current server load balancing configurations and determine implementation requirements. - Configure server load balancing equipment to place servers in/out of service, adding/removing virtual IP addresses (VIPs), troubleshooting connection issues, updating network documents - Upgrade configuration of existing server load balancing equipment to support new features and functions. - Assist in the evaluation of potential server load balancing products or technical solutions. - Test newly released equipment software and operating system for security vulnerabilities and make changes to mitigate the risk. - Perform on-going management of server load balancing server installations and upgrade projects and maintain deployment schedules. - Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems.
